Jillian Doke-Magruder, FNP
She/her
Raised primarily in the Bay Area, Jillian began her academic journey at UC Berkeley before moving to Albuquerque, NM, where she became a registered nurse. Her early nursing career focused on caring for critically ill and drug-exposed newborns at the University of New Mexico Hospital. These formative experiences deepened her passion for community-based, compassionate care and strengthened her commitment to working with underserved populations.
Although she began in pediatrics, her long-term goal was always to work in gynecology and reproductive health. She returned to school to earn her Masters in Nursing at Ball State University to become a nurse practitioner. She started her NP career in pediatric primary care but then transitioned to her true calling: reproductive healthcare.
For the past three years, she has had the privilege of working as a nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette. It’s an organization she deeply believes in—one that reflects her values of trauma-informed, inclusive, and evidence-based care.
Jillian is co-founder of The Gynecology Collective. Her clinical interests include abortion care, fertility, sexual health, mental health, and preventive primary care. She is especially passionate about providing affirming, informed care to queer individuals and families seeking reproductive support—areas that are too often overlooked or stigmatized. She also loves the hands-on aspect of procedures and values the opportunity to empower patients through education and shared decision-making.
As a healthcare provider and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she is deeply committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of identity—has access to compassionate, high-quality care. Jillian believes that our shared values, as well as our differences, strengthen our communities and enrich our collective understanding. Her work is driven by the belief that embracing both the commonalities and the diversity in our experiences is key to fostering a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system.
Outside of work, she is a proud mom to two wonderful daughters. Jillian also enjoys late-night DIY projects that often have questionable results. She cherishes her close-knit group of family and friends who make life brighter.
